Once you have submitted the application, you will be able to login, view and print the application until 10 days prior to the start of the term to which you applied.

Admission Requirements
As you apply to UW-Madison, you need to be aware of two different sets of requirements:
1. The Graduate School minimum admissions requirements
, and
2. Department admission requirements
.
The Graduate School sets
the minimum admission requirements for all prospective graduate students.
Program admission requirements are often more rigorous than the minimum
requirements set by the Graduate School. Requirements vary between
programs. Please check each department's Web site you apply to for program-specific
requirements.
In general, departments base admission on demonstrated scholastic ability,
letters of recommendation, and the personal statement or reasons for graduate
study. Departments may have higher TOEFL/MELAB minimum score requirements
for admission than the Graduate School. Some departments and some fellowships
require the GRE (Graduate Record Exam). Some departments in the School
of Education may require the MAT (Miller Analogy Test).
If you meet department requirements and they would like to admit you, they
will recommend you for admission to the Graduate School.
The Graduate School makes the final admission decision based on the program's recommendation.
The post submission checklists describe the documents you must submit to complete an application.
Transfer Of Credit
Your intended program may count previous graduate work toward fulfillment of program course requirements. Contact the program for further information. This work will not appear on a UW-Madison transcript and will not count toward the Graduate School's minimum credit requirement.
Professional School Applicants
Students enrolled in a UW-Madison professional school or college who also meet the requirements for graduate admission with full standing may be able to enroll concurrently in the Graduate School. For information about pursuing a dual degree, contact your intended graduate program and the appropriate professional school's admissions office.
Applicants to More than One Degree Program
UW-Madison allows you to pursue two degrees in two separate majors (double degree). You can apply for both majors now or apply for an additional major at any time during your enrollment at UW-Madison.
Funding
Fellowships and Graduate Assistantships
Your intended program is your main source for funding.
Many fellowships and assistantships are available to both domestic and international applicants. Students do not apply directly for Graduate School fellowships, but must be nominated by their program.
International applicants are not eligible for financial aid or advanced opportunity funding. International applicants who want to apply for an assistantship must fill out the Additional Funding Questions in the application. If recommended for admission by the program, international students will be asked to provide documentation to prove adequate financial support for the length of their academic program.
Financial Aid and Work Study (not available for international applicants)
If you apply for loans or work study, you must submit financial
aid transcripts from every institution you have attended.
