Description: Instituted in 1950. A comprehensive university even though social sciences and humanities courses are generally offered. Formerly a "national key school," now a "211 Project" school. The 211 Project is aimed at forming a series of high quality higher educational institutions. These schools generally have the most prestige, the best students, and the most government funding. Usual admission requirements are completion of senior secondary school (12 years of education) and a national entrance examination.
