Description: Instituted in 1946. Formerly called Beijing Medical University. In April 2000 was reincorporated into Peking University and in May 2000 was formally renamed Peking University Health Science Center. A medical "national key school". "National key schools" generally have the most prestige, the best students and the most government funding. Also offers a three year diploma, not an admissible level to graduate study. Usual admission requirements are completion of senior secondary school (12 years of education) and a national entrance examination.
