Description: Instituted in 1850. The oldest university in Australia. Excellent school with high academic standards. Cumberland College of Health Sciences, Sydney College of the Arts, N.S.W. State Conservatorium of Music and two parts of Sydney College of Advanced Education, Institute of Nursing Studies, and Sydney Institiute of Education (formerly Sydney Teachers' college) consolidated with the University in 1990. The usual admission requirement is the New South Wales Higher School Certificate (grade 12).
